What Inspires Me

I’m drawn to the depth of color and richness found in stained glass artwork and enjoy the organic, sweeping lines that flow through art nouveau. I love designing and sketching new ideas, inspired by what I observe in nature and the world around me.

Why I create

It is refreshing to connect with the beauty and diversity of the natural world. I find that it is important to reflect not only on the impact nature can have on us,  but also the impact we can have on nature.

What I make

I make Limited Edition ceramic art tile and hand-built boxes. These hand pressed tiles can be hung from a wall or displayed on a stand. My slab built ceramic boxes are a special place for keepsakes and treasures.

Ceramic Experience

I began working as a glazer at Ephraim Pottery in 2010.  By making glaze decisions for the company, I gained a deep understanding of how color and glaze characteristics impact the overall design of a piece.

After a few years, I started to develop an artistic style inspired by stained glass.  For seven years, I designed tiles for each annual collection. Several limited edition and experimental pieces were created featuring these designs.

In 2020 I began my journey as an independent ceramic artist, founding Alexander Ceramics in Waukesha, WI. I look forward to sharing my unique design creativity with a growing audience.
